I think they're the same, but IMO they should not be. IMO the hoods on the Dame Edna models (2006 forward) are heavier and exceed the capacity of the strut too readily. The same strut that lasts indefinitely on a 2004 (in the South) will need to be replaced on a 2006 or it will fall on you.
I'm looking for something a little stronger. I don't want to have to keep replacing the struts on this 2006.
