Bill, when my 2003 V6s DICs decided to go, it was suddenly. Car was cruising along beautifully, then had a couple of minor stumbles and a mile later was running awful, followed by the flashing CEL.
Limping a mile to a former dealer by my office was not a good idea; the raw fuel took out the CAT.
I sourced the new DICs from Autozone online. Paid $500 for the pair after coupons and with expedited shipping, and received Wells/SEM drop shipped from the Wells facility in Idaho.
The CAT was a challenge, but I got lucky. The former dealer had one laying around (probably the last Saab part they had in the building). It was pricey but more reliable than the aftermarket options are.
So my long-winded point is to source and try new OEM (not ProParts) DICs and plugs, especially if your DICs are original. Don't keep trying to drive around and risk CAT damage.
Autozone Part Number is CB14. They have gone up in price substantially since I did this, but they do refer to being manufactured by Wells. Worth some research at any rate.
Good luck
