Back in early 2013 I was in Phoenix for a soccer tournament. It also served that I could go to a Cadillac dealer who would program a replacement key for my recently purchased 2007 9-5 Aero. Just before they finished with the key a service manager approached me and informed me that my rear pads were pretty worn and needed to be replaced along with the - you know - Saab expensive rotors. I deferred. Dang he was right! 4 years and 50K miles later I had to replace them.

I ordered Bosch Quietcast pads and rotors from a nearby O’Reillys auto parts store. And although the rotors are listed for the 9-5, they don't fit. In fact eEuroparts also lists them for a ’07 9-5 but if you look more closely it says they won’t fit. The correct style of rotors are called a ‘hat’ since they cover the emergency brake shoe. The guys at O’Reillys were good about it and after looking at enough images honed in on ones that work. It may depend on the exact car.

The pads were a fight as well but with enough jiggling they went in. All good now.
