~ 100,000 miles, battery is new, voltage is good, cranks well.
Replaced CPS less than 10K ago. Wife was driving and would not hot start, sputtering and stalling. So without driving myself I installed another new CPS that I had on hand. While doing that work, I noticed how bright and shiny the inside of the TB was that I replaces also ~10K ago.
Everything seemed good for while, then the starting problems came back. No problems at all while underway. So now I am thinking the newish TB is bad and I am doing nothing for a while.
Wife needs the wagon to pick up plants for the garden. She drives ~1 mile for that and leaves the engine running while she is at the garden center, afraid of what will happen starting. Now the problem seems to be gone.
Maybe the problem will come back. But perhaps the TB was having problems with throttle movement and idle control and leaving the engine running at idle allowed the throttle to exercise at that setting and wear through a resistance issue or mechanical sticking. But as I noted, the TB interior looks totally clean and shiny.
I know that writing this means that it will fail when I go out this afternoon.
This vehicle is not driven much lately, just not comfortable until I replace the struts. Koni FSD that are shot after 30K. At 68YO, I do not embrace such work with enthusiasm.
