I did check the oil - and it appeared to be about 1/8 qt. low. I topped it off. But - I have done some more research and it seems that a low brake fluid level - or - a low coolant level could also be at play.
When I checked the oil, I noticed that the coolant was low, but didn't have any Dex-Cool on hand (our other Saab is my 9-5 Aero, which when they flushed it last time, put in a GM-brand coolant which is more yellowish in color.)
I'm assuming that the Dex-Cool might be original to the wagon. I know that you shouldn't mix these coolants, so I picked up a jug of Dex-Cool (Prestone) this afternoon and will be filling the wagon tonight as soon as it's cooled down enough. Maybe that will make a difference.
