FIXED: Re: AIR DISTRIBUTION FLAP Posted by saabsince 93b [Email] (#972) [Profile/Gallery] (more from saabsince 93b) on Sun, 2 Jul 2017 17:09:19 In Reply to: Re: AIR DISTRIBUTION FLAP HELP, saabsince 93b [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 1 Jul 2017 07:39:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Well I got it fixed. Seems the upper distribution flap was not indexed properly.
I pulled the yellow fitting/arm off the shaft.
the shaft is a square metal shaft of about 1/4". It is a long shaft that can be pulled out of the flap a few inches. I reinstalled the yellow fitting but had to hold the shaft with pliers as I pressed it on.
I had a nice aluminum fitting to replace the plastic one, but the square hole was too small and would have had to modify it to fit.
Well, I now have no codes and plenty of cold air in the system. This was very satisfying as I am rescuing an abandoned 2000 9-5 Aero wagon red one with a stick shift.
Many parts were cannibalized for other cars including all the heater servos, fan motor, fan speed wiring etc... I did replace the condenser, receiver/dryer, expansion valve and all "O" rings. Luckily the system is solid and not leaking. The values on the Tech 2 are where they should be with up to 32degrees at the heat exchanger and up to 22 BAR pressure on the high side.
Boy, did I learn a lot about the Saab A/C!!! Very interesting long saga, but fun and satisfying.
I am happy to answer any questions.
