Vibration under load after brake and axle replacement.

I recently replaced the brakes and rotors on all four wheels. While taking things apart I noticed that the right cv boot was leaking; so,I replaced the axle and carrier bearing. I sent my axle off to be rebuilt, but became impatient and bought a replacement. Is it possible that I was sold an axle for a 2002 and up as mine is a 1999? The axle seemed especially difficult in slipping into the the carrier tube and bolting up the strut to the spindle. The axle actually seemed to be too long. The front wheel bearings have been replaced no more than 10k ago. I noticed that there is a vibration when accelerating at low speeds especially or when climbing hills at highway speeds. Also, I noticed that the cruise and traction control do not engage. However, there is no abs light illuminated. I have my original axle back from the shop. But they were not sure that they could do anything more than a boot job. Going downhill with my foot off the accelerator I don't feel any vibration.
