'04 9-5 Aero ABS controller (again...) Posted by aizzo [Email] (#1220) [Profile/Gallery] (more from aizzo) on Tue, 11 Jul 2017 15:35:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi All -
As luck would have it, right after the most recent thread on ABS controllers, mine went on the friz. It was exhibiting the same symptoms as the previous poster (ABS, ESP, Brake, triangle, and no speedo or odo)
However, between the time of that thread and mine going south, I had gone to the junkyard and pulled 2 ABS controllers.
1 - 2004 9-5 Arc Automatic
1 - 2004 9-5 Aero Automatic
Both have the same Bosch number as my car (2004 9-5 Manual) but since they are from a pick-and-pull there is no real assurance they are actually functional.
I installed the unit from the Automatic Aero and I still have the (ABS, ESP, Brake, and triangle lights) but the speedo and odo work.
So, I was thinking that because the ABS controller came out of an automatic car, the controller might have to be reprogrammed.
I have access to a Tech2, but when we try to reprogram the ABS/TCS we are not able to make the manual selection stick. It is very similar to the experience of the guy in the video linked below.
The ABS controller from the Arc seemed to behave the same (at least with respect the programming via Tech2), but I didn't drive the car with the Arc ABS controller installed so I don't know about the speedo/odo behavior.
Thanks for any and all thoughts!
Alan
