My Daughter bought one, it's an impressive car. She loves it. The car is quite distinctive, and she constantly gets comments on it.
Before she bought it we talked about the concern over body parts. Given how many saab body parts I've needed during my saab ownership (exactly one fender in over 30 years) we agreed it was a small risk.
(btw 2 months after buying the car she was the victim of a hit and run in an intersection! Happy ending though the paintless dent repair guy was all that was needed)
there are a few problem areas:
- taillight bulb overheats and melts the socket. there are some fixes.
- seat heater seems to be a problem on many cars. Its the standard fix, same as every saab since the 80's (70's?)
- windshield is a tough find.
These cars are very high tech and probably most would say that they are not traditionally "saab ish". And yet, being so unique and different from anything else on the road, they sort of *are* "very saab".
Anyway if I needed a car I'd certainly buy one. I wish my current crop of OG 9-5's weren't so dang reliable; I sort of want a reason to buy one :-)
