Which you clearly didn't need, but I usually tell everyone to remove the fill plug first, then the overflow, then the drain. Just in case you
a) Can't get the fill plug out, then you stop.
b) Can't get the overflow plug out, then you measure, and
c) Can't get the drain plug out, then at least you aren't left with an empty transmission and can simply replace the fill and overflow plugs and drive to the service shop at your convenience, as opposed to having an empty transmission and calling a tow truck on a Saturday afternoon.
