Had this same problem on an old Pontiac Transport. Turned out to be the Fuel Rail Pressure Regulator. On the SAAB 9-5, this is a small PRV type valve on the end of the fuel rail toward the drivers side under the plastic throttle body cover. There is a small rubber tube that connects to the intake manifold. The objective is to maintain fuel rail pressure to 3 bar (43 PSI) above intake manifold pressure. If this is leaking, then pressure will likely be too high and is flooding the engine after some time. In addition, Trionic is trying to over-compensate (adapt).
