I know these existed as options in other parts of the world but not in North America. I no longer own my 2000 9-5 but I remember the headlight glass to be a removable part. North American owners could purchase Euro Spec lenses for the headlights which improved distance visibility due to a different grind of the front glass.
Do you have access to a WIS, Workshop Information System? That CD will have details on how to remove the headlamps from your car.
Like saabsince93b, I recommend staying with glass lenses rather than the polycarbonate. Perhaps new Euro Spec lenses since your original lenses are probably pitted from years of exposure to road dirt. The plastic lenses on my 2008 are pitted far worse after 9 years than the glass lenses on my 2000 were after 12 years when I sold it.
