I think you can replace the new shocks, and replace those bushings, and install spacers, and install shims as well, and all this does is reduce the amount of problems you've got - the suspension is just undercooked and will need supervision over your time with the car.
If you are using Directional tires, you can have those rears "flipped" so the inside of the left tire is now on the outside on the right side (and vice versa). This will buy you some time, while you line up parts and start trying to optimize by these various means listed above. You might want to forego the softer compound Z rated tires for some touring tires with a much harder compound, if you are going to use Asymmetrical tires - otherwise you'll just blow through tires.
Yeah, it just sounds (from the cupping) like the wheel bearing is shot - I replaced one rear wheel bearing on an '04, but frankly it was a waste of time.
I think you could replace the existing springs, but it didn't help me much - at least not for long. What could be done, is to get the springs and shocks for a circa '01 Base Model - I bet eventually it will attain the right ride height.
Anyway, IMO this problem never completely resolves. I'm even starting to see sagging on an '06 wagon - when supposedly they had it fixed by then.
