I assume you are referring to the 9-5 wagons. That makes sense, because most wagons came with the OEM roof rails (without any crossbars, of course).
The only problem with the add-on Saab (Thule) crossbars for the wagons, in my experience, is that if you don't remove the crossbars when you're not going to be using them for a while, the lock cylinders can become corroded to the
point where it is impossible to unlock them, should you want to remove the bars in the future. I guess that just lubing the lock cylinders from time to time would address that issue.
I also think that in general, Thule products are better-designed than most of their competitors' stuff. We have a Thule box for use on long trips, and after maybe 10 years, it's virtually in the same condition as when we bought it (new).
