Sealing the intake manifold vacuum tree Posted by Bill B [Email] (#1884) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill B) on Fri, 1 Sep 2017 13:45:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I found a vacuum at the base of the vacuum tree that is on the intake manifold on the driver's side of the throttle body. From the dirt pattern, it is clear that the leak was on the side opposite the bolt that holds the tree to the manifold. The o-ring where the tree goes into the manifold is quite hard and probably useless.
Eeuro search did not turn up anything, RME had the tree but not the o-ring.
I will grease the o-ring but the grease will get sucked into the manifold. Has anyone tried either silicone RTV or the Anerobic Loctite pan sealer on the mating surface between the tree flange and the manifold boss? Or, is there a source or size for the o-ring?
