Always keep the cables in mind - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
I mentioned our '01 Aero, with its fun history of electrical gremlins.
The whole thing was, 99% of the time the car cranked strong. Only rarely was the connection so bad it wouldn't do a healthy crank. You can be looking at a spasmodic, intermittent failed connection, and it is 100% almost all of the time. But almost is not OK. For one thing, the radio blew up on account of this - the AC would shut down, or the alarm would trigger. Not worth it to soldier on with a tired positive cable - especially the type used on the '01 and older 9-5s.
