CAAP or MAP sensor o-rings Posted by Bill B [Email] (#1884) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill B) on Thu, 14 Sep 2017 16:56:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The vacuum fitting o-ring helped a lot, thank you Bernie, but there is still vacuum leak type roughness. Today I removed what I used to call a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor, but now, after a frustrating time with Jim Ellis and Eeuro, found that it is a CAAP (charge air absolute pressure) sensor. It is NLA at Jim Ellis and can be special ordered from Europe by Eeuro. It has two o-rings. One was broken, held in place by the gland (groove) and the other was very worn, but not hard.
So I am now seeking two o-rings for the CAAP sensor. The intact o-ring measures 12.9mm od x 1.7 cross-section dia. The hole in the manifold is half an inch (12.9mm) and the grooves are 9.9mm id x 2.5mm. I am inclined to purchase 13 mm x 2.0 mm o-rings at Burton's tomorrow unless someone knows a part number or the correct size.
