My '08 9-5 Aero runs 17 inch wheels in summer and 16 inch wheels in winter. Both sets have TPMS valve stems. I bought the 16 inch wheels used. Per the Manager of the tire store where the previous owner kept her winter wheels, these were for a 9-3. Based on the size of the Gislaved snows fitted to these wheels, it was an OG 9-3.
You should be able to have the sensors fitted to the older wheels.
