Mine is leaking from the axle seal. As mentioned, lack of a dipstick is a real pain. I drained and refilled with the correct fluid, cutting the hex key to fit the oil level plug, and leveling the car once it was jacked up for access through the wheel well. Still could not get the fluid to top out at the level plug, even adding " a bit more ". Brought it to the attention of my indy, and he said he wouldn't be too concerned, as the bottom of the axle is higher than the top of the level plug. Of course it is possible that I am still low on fluid, from all the splashing around and then leaking out from the seals, but it's been years and tens of thousands of miles since and still going strong. I assume an axle seal job is expensive? Anyone know? I should probably just add a bit every 5K or so for good measure. Ive always had the very slight 4th gear whine, but really don't stay in 4th very long anyway.
