I dropped it off at K&N today Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 12 Nov 2017 10:56:17 In Reply to: Re: CEL again - Rats!, TG, Sun, 12 Nov 2017 08:30:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Based on the WIS the problem is 95% certain to be the Throttle Body. The remaining 5% is the outside chance the problem is a connector or cable to the TB.
My 2000 went 318,000 miles without a TB issue, and I never knew I was an outlier.
I am well acquainted with the US23 North to I94 West interchange ramp (we live about 5 miles East of there) this is not a spot to have any kind of misfire or stumble from your car. A tight corkscrew ramp with a 25 mph max limit, then pedal to the metal to accelerate to 80 mph in an incredibly short distance to merge into the fast moving expressway traffic, while simultaneously dodging the vehicles moving over to take the tight corkscrew to south bound US23.
My only area of concern on my drive to K&N today was that same interchange where west bound I94 drops from three lanes to two. Do I stay in the RH lane until it disappears, running the risk of being pinched off by the center lane traffic while staying close to the shoulder incase of trouble? Or do I merge into the center lane early and hope for no trouble until after the RH lane disappears? I opted to merge early as I have seen too many pinch-offs there.
