Does the valve usually get changed with the fuel pump? The pump isn't that old, but also not new.
Wouldn't there be less fuel pressure at the rail for a short time? Seems one could test this theory. It makes sense that it's something fuel related that takes some number of hours to bleed down.
At least it always starts on the second crank.
