Lifter Question - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
I have a set of lifters out of a 9-3 parts car I had that I intend to put in my 9-5 because they're much cleaner and have fewer fine scratches on the sides. The 9-3 lifters haven't been in a running car for at least a year, and even the 9-5 hasn't run in well over 6 months. About 8 lifters out of each set have squishy buttons on the bottom, and the other 8 are rock solid. Is that anything to be concerned about? I'm assuming that the squishy ones would pump up with oil and stiffen up after the engine has run for a while.
