Stamped Steel Quick-nut Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 13 Dec 2017 16:10:26 In Reply to: heat shield nut, Denis, Wed, 13 Dec 2017 09:28:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my 2000 the heat shield tore at a few of the nuts due to miles and age, then it dropped down onto the resonator making quite a metallic racket. I was able to remove the old stamped nuts, used SS fender washers and neoprene fender washers to compensate for the torn holes in the shield and eliminate future metal-to-metal chafing, then re-installed the old nuts.
Are your old nuts missing?
