I have been researching silicone hoses for an article about re-fitting the viggen and 9-5 w. silicone hoses and Evans waterless coolant, new pump, thermostat etc . (so theoretically , the cooling system, -barring radiator failure, leaks , should be good for life ) anyway, one purveyor of silicone hoses on e bay, says his are "flourosilicone lined "( therefore better)? , now Do88 says that is "unneeded except for diesel engines " so we have a dispute. Silicone hoses are touted as "lifetime hoses " but as we have seen they may not have a longevity equivalent to the lifetime of Methuselah! What is the etiology of failure ?
