Power Steering Pump - DIY? Posted by fdw201 [Email] (#2066) [Profile/Gallery] (more from fdw201) on Tue, 6 Feb 2018 08:02:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have read through the WIS instructions for replacing the PS Pump on my 2003 3.0. It seems fairly straight forward, but wanted to ask if anybody thought it was not a reasonable DIY job?
The pump has been noisy for a long time (looking back in the service records I received... at least 25k). Changing the PS fluid helped a bit, but it is still quite noisy with the wheel turned.
My level of DIY is brakes/rotors, so if this is beyond me, then please say so.
Only tripping point on this job looks like using the special tool (83 95 261) to remove a disconnect on the evap line. Is the tool required?
