Yeah, I'm with Anders on this. The plug is there, the process is easy, and the downside is imaginary. The main thing I would recommend to newcomers who don't do the 3.5-4.0 quart R + R is, make sure you provide a means for air to escape as you refill through the dipstick, and don't just slam 4.0 full quarts in there. These gearboxes do not "use" fluid like a motor can, and if you've drained 3.75 quarts or less, you can't be putting more than what you drained in there or you will be overfilling it.
As for why/how you could drain 6 quarts, did you drain it with the car on a slant? I'm puzzled as to how that Aisin could even function properly with 2 quarts too many in there.
