Canbus communications - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
Thanks for your replies.
After a bit of "research," I came up with this:
Some vehicles use canbus communication to monitor every single lamp (as opposed to just the
main ones in the 9-5) and even substituting a number plate lamp would result in an error
because the system would detect less current was flowing. The 9-5 only monitors the primary
exterior lights, not reverse, sidelights, number plate lights.
Is this true for my 2005 9-5 ARC sedan?
I have also found 1557 LED error-free bulbs from popular sellers (i.e.: Amazon). Are these intended to eliminate can-but errors that I'm experiencing? If so, how do they actually work?
Good topic for a snowy afternoon in Vermont!
Thanks for your time.
