2003 Aero Starts With a Bang!

My 2003 Aero, 130k, has over the past few months start with what sounds like a small explosion, or distinctive "bang" coming out of the exhaust. Car even vibrates a bit. Only happens when starting cold. Bang is only a micro second long and car turns over and runs fine. Any ideas as to what this can be? Early warning sign of trouble to come? Thanks!
