Was finding it tedious, chatting with would be Saab buyers who thought they could buy safety with their checkbook. Safety, more than anything else, is a state of mind. I don't want to feel absolutely invulnerable. I want to know there will be consequences if I drive while tired or angry or distracted. I think the Saab OG 9-5 has a perfect mix of "build sacrifice" to attenuate impact, plenty of well designed airbags and other safety engineering, incredible seats to keep the driver awake and quite alert on long hauls, and a crush resistant passenger shell. We all saw the way those 4 Britons were killed in that worthless little Mitsubishi rental, in Florida, and that's clearly not acceptable, but by the same token no driver or passenger should just assume that likely nothing will ever happen to them if they make a mistake.
