Hello,
Being that you have an 01 9-5 there is no occupancy sensor. There is a switch in the latch side (seat) of the belt buckle. Make sure it is plugged in under the seat. If you follow the wire from the latch there is a 2 pin connector sort of tucked up on the bottom side of the seat. From there the harness goes into the big connector for the seat. You can jump the connector on the harness side to check if the switch int he seat is faulty.
Another thing to check is the passenger side latch. It has the wiring but if it is plugged in the light will be lit. So make sure it is unplugged. I have seen this a few times when people think it somehow came unplugged and connect it. Good Luck, Bernie
