I have btdt with our sedan also... but now our wagon needs rear shocks (noticing scalloping and one shock has quite a bit of rust so probably leaking). I noticed springs are also rusting on this car, so I'm thinking of trying to source some. I'd probably go with used, though parts cars are usually sedans, not wagons... so getting the right spring used may not be easy.
Probably if you are going to take spring/shock assemblies to a car shop to separate and reassemble, you might as well just take the whole job there as you will also need to pay for an alignment anyway. It's not like they are going to charge a fortune to remove 2 wheels and an additional ~8 bolts...
