I took our '04 9-5 Aero Kombi for ESP reprogramming today after replacing it (exact same PN 0 273 004 701). The tech reset the steering angle sensor but seemingly could not "set" the changes he made with the Tech 2. The dash lights for the ABS / ESP were on in his shop. When my wife drove home the lights were off. The speedometer is working normally and came back up when the ESP / ABS module on the pump valve block was changed.
The tech said there were special ESP / ABS controllers for Bosch 5.3 systems on cars with sport chassis (Aeros like ours). Has anyone heard of this? If it is so, it may be nearly impossible to find the right ABS / ESP controller as the number of '04 Aero Sport Kombis out there is pretty small. For now the lights are off and I'm assuming no codes. I'll put my OpCom on it tonight to see if there's anything there.
If I find codes I'll find a different shop with a Tech 2 and investigate further. A lack of dash lights however is promising.
