Full Size Spare?

Hi All,
'05 Aero-Recently set up a full size spate. Just put it in place if the will spare and it pushes up the floor cover by about .5 inches. I noticed little stand-offs on the floor not sure if they locate or support the silly spare. If they support then removing them might render the floor cover flush. Anyone tried this? Thanks!
