Hi Bill - I just searched WIS. The only references in my WIS (dated 2008) are for checking the integrity of the PCV system, and a general discussion of how it is supposed to work =(.
Because I looked at this job and why I was going to do it (desperation to find a vacuum leak), I did everything I could to avoid it. Bernie had a post on this topic within the past year - he remembered that there was a service bulletin about replacing some of these - and these newer style ones were a pain.
You may want to go ahead with your replacement, but if it were me, I would "adapt" the hose with a piece of good quality fuel line, clamped to the trap, and clamped to an "adapter" piece that fits the quick-connect. I think the male side of theses quick connects are the same as some of the common GM disconnects, like fuel, but in different sizes. I have used a smaller size adapter like this to make a line I can plug into the output of the '06 to'09 fuel pumps so that I can pump the tank dry before lowering it.
Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
