Trace the part number on our site sponsor Eeuro to get a pic. It runs from the brake booster and then branches off to the intake manifold and another line goes to the drivers side engine head - where the coil used to go on oldie B23X's? My chess game with the Reaper only last ~ 3 seconds - he must have liked my move and let me go. On a more mundane level, I was pulling out of a parking lot onto a busy road. My brain willed me to focus on the potential for a collision so I could steer left or right to minimize a potential catastrophe - trying the e-brake was not even on my mind since I quickly realized I could keep pulling out onto the road, turn left and escape destruction. I then slowed down by downshifting the automatic and came to a step in the parking lot across the road with my parking brake. I taped the valve back into position which restored vacuum and very carefully drove the short distance home. It was parked for a few days until I got an OE replacement from one of the few existing OE part's departments left at a former Saab dealer. I find the e-brake not too effective at bringing a higher speed vehicle to a stop but it would have worked in my particular case had the sequence of event been different. I had a similar feeling when I rolled through a red light while on black ice in my old 9000 and another case when it lost it's brake fluid when a rusty high pressure line bursts. In that case the red brake system warning light came on and it allowed me a few seconds to pull over with rapidly failing brakes.
