Removing CD's - LONG with superfluous content 1 Saabers Like This Post! I gathered together 4 types of tape to vigorously attack the screw covers. After multiple attempts with increasingly sticky tape, I was about to give up. But since it was getting dark and no one was watching, I decided to continue. I was beginning to feel that MI-Roger was joking with me. I checked my calendar to make sure it wasn't April Fools day. Maybe I had written something wrong about 9-5's or was it because I nominated Snowmobile for member of the year? Then it happened - one of the covers popped off followed by the other three. Just have patience and use the stickiest tape you have or can get. As Roger said, it's easy to pull the unit after removing the 4 T-25 torx screws (if you are marooned by an angry spouse on a deserted island with your 9-5 and they ask you for one final request, a T-25 bit will be your best friend). After pulling the unit fwd, you disconnect 2 plugs on the right and the antenna on the left. To service the CD changer, remove 3 screws on the back metal service cover. 2 on the back and 1 on the side. This will allow you to flip up and remove the cover. There were 3 CD's in the unit. My son and I carefully removed 3 ribbon cables, one screw and twisted back two retainers to allow us to remove the top of the CD changer. The top is still connected by two wires to what I call a do-hickey.We could carefully remove the top 2 CD's without further disassembly. The third one was low down so we decided to leave it in place, button things up and reconnect the unit to the car. After connecting the connectors, the changer made a lot of "moving" sounds as it possibly reset itself. After it stopped moving, I pressed the eject button and after a period of shuffling, it ejected Taylor Swift! No, just her CD (1989). I loaded Taylor into the changer (her CD that is) and it successfully loaded it into position 1 after which her sweet voice and beguiling music soothed our souls. Root cause unknown. Possibly human error due to lack of training. Will undertake further testing in car.
