Remove the wiper arms.
Remove a plastic rivet at each end of cowl.
Remove the rubber gasket that spans the width of the cowl beneath the hood.
Lift the forward edge of cowl and slide the cowl forward for a half-inch or so, then lift the trailing edge and slide it up the windshield to remove completely.
New Saab linkages are available for around $100 each. Or replace just the plastic hinge points on your old linkage for under $20, assuming they are what broke.
