Did the snow tires on three cars two weeks ago which is usually early for southern PA, but this year it was just in the nick of time. We got 8 inches of snow a couple of days later and I saw many cars in the ditch, including those with "all-wheel-drive". As I was waiting for the bus, a SAAB 9-7 tried to make it up a small grade right in front of me and was unsuccessful, having to slide back down to the bottom after two attempts. Seems the right tires are more important than the number of driven wheels when it gets very slippery. I guess this is a lesson not to wait until the last minute or lose sleep about putting them on early and the unnecessary wear. I heartily agree that a cordless impact wrench makes the job much easier and I should have gotten one sooner, but I was younger then and it wasn't as much of a chore. I like my Bosch, but I would guess any brand that provides enough torque would do the job.
