I never did the Sport button on my 2000 Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 3 Feb 2019 09:31:07 In Reply to: Re: Jalousie replacement on 2006+ cars, SWEDECAR [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 3 Feb 2019 09:19:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I was able to turn the shifter plat 90 degrees of so and able to work around it being in the way to replace the Jalousie and PRNDL lamp. I split the right side 'trunion' on the Jalousie strip then inserted both halves in the slot on the side of the shifter shaft. This amateur hack repair lasted the 6 months I owned my 2000 after replacing the Jalousie. I thought I did this repair a couple years before sale. Maybe I will do this job the right way and remove the knob this time as I have T10 and smaller Torx Bits.
I also could not get the winter button dislodged in my 2000 to proactively replace its lamp.
