So how do you remove the 'cubby'? On my 2000 the cubby was removed by carefully prying up on the bottom at dead center to disengage a tab on the bottom of the cubby.
Does the cubby on the 2006+ get removed by carefully prying on the sides? Or does it have a bottom tab too?
My salvaged shifter cover has two very faint dents in the plastic on the left side of the cubby opening. Possibly from someone prying there to remove the cubby. No strong clues on the bottom side to indicate where other pieces latch into the cover plate.
Update: I took a second look and found two small distinct dents in the plastic, dead center on bottom lip of cubby opening.
