Update: Same Symptoms After NSS Replacement Posted by fdw201 [Email] (#2066) [Profile/Gallery] (more from fdw201) on Mon, 11 Feb 2019 20:01:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Original thread linked below! Long post, sorry!
After figuring out the test procedure, I had to wait almost 2 weeks for a repeat of the no crank condition to test for the ignition switch voltage.
I'm getting 11-12+ volts at the fuse mentioned in the original thread without a crank, so I think that theory is out.
Where should I check next? The only other symptom is that I could almost tell that the no start was close to occurring again because it seemed like the car was cranking slower than normal... sure enough, next day no start.
After the no start, it can go right back to normal for 8-10 starts before I encounter the same condition.
Other items to note: (1) Had a start today where I turned the key and had maybe a 1 second delay before it started cranking. (2) It's perhaps more prevalent when it's cold. Our 70 degrees to 9 degree weather here in Tennessee has been crazy in the past 3 weeks.
