Thanks for the help! The white one way check valve you mention goes to the throttle body and is located on the back of the valve cover. This is not the valve (?) I am referring to. On the newer 9-5s with the raw alloy valve cover there is a hard plastic line that runs from the oil trap to the cobra intake located at the front of the engine (the cobra pipe attaches to the cold side of the turbo). I believe that this provides additional suction (?) to the oil trap. The oil trap does not see boost pressure because of the white check valve you mention (newer cars are equipped with a grey check valve with a larger ID). To be honest I am not 100% sure what purpose this line serves-I believe it pulls oil vapor from the trap and returns it to the intake to be burned within the combustion chamber. There is a valve (?) / cylinder built into this hard line. It is located near the end of the valve cover. My line had damage around this part. I have since cut out the damaged part of the line and used fuel line hose to reconnect this valve (?) /cylinder to the hard line. What I am trying to determine is if it is suppose to be a one way valve or something else...there is an arrow denoting direction of flow. Mine flows both ways. I don't think that this line sees boost ever (except possibly from the recirculating valve?) so it makes sense that it's two way but why then is it there? And why the flow arrow? I have extra check valves which I can use to replace this part but I hesitate because I do not understand its purpose. I messed around with it a bit...it appears undamaged. There is a spring involved and it looks like the design of the newer larger ID one way check valves so...hopefully someone can shed some light on this question.
