New rotors and pads...wobble. Replace? Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Wed, 6 Mar 2019 15:56:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Asking here since more activity and same brake set up as 9-5 on the Viggen.
Purchased new genuine Saab slotted Viggen rotors and pads from Saab Parts USA back in 2011. Car never ever sees snow and stored for winters.
I finally got around to replacing the rotors and pads in 2015. I think I've driven 5k miles on them? There's a vibration on the steering wheel when breaking at high speed. I did the work myself and did it really meticulously (I've done this a few times already, so I trust how I did it). It developed this over the last year or two when driven in the summer. There's no rust or anything like that. All clean.
I checked all the torque settings, lubed the pins again etc...
I think the pads were pagid. Very dusty, but am okay with that since there's no squeaking.
Anyway, I don't like the wobble. The old pads and rotors were stock from factory and there was never ever a wobble.
What did I do wrong? Did I not bed them in properly?
Since I do the work myself, should I just bite the bullet and get a whole new set of rotors and pad? I don't think at this point there's any sense in contacting the seller. I replaced them myself and also, it's been years since I purchased them.
Bender.
Thank you for any tips
