We have tried LED ( and HID) and the results, to date were totally underwhelming ! What brand , model # , part # did YOU find works? can you please tell us ? and how many lumens does it put out ? .........................................................It seems most of the LED just do NOT work well when placed into a designed for Halogen H-4 or H-7 headlight . IME the LED do not focus well, provide a good, even beam pattern and most importantly, are NOT very bright ! ( And there are numerous anecdotal youtube video comparisons, tests that back this up ) If it is not brighter , producing MORE light than the original what is the point ? We do not want to be just different ! How many lumens do your LED put out ? what brand / type are they ? Unless you have good data you may , in fact be putting out LESS light ! You may indeed have a " expectation of result Bias" ! ......................... LED are NOT necessarily brighter ! ( some folks confuse the "whiter " higher K scale
light w/ brighter ? ) Our 100 watt each halogen ( high and low beam ) X4 will put out a combined 400 watts which is about 8,000 lumens ! here is the chart : Enter power in watts:
400
W
Enter light source:Halogen
Or enter luminous efficacy in lumens per watt:
20
lm/W
Luminous flux result in lumens:
8000
lm ( It may in fact be more lumens, ( or less ) As i am using a arbitrary conservative efficiency figure ( i think ! ) Are there any Electrical, lighting engineers out there ?
