Headlight Leveler post Suspension Work Posted by Doug W [Email] (#2371) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Doug W) on Wed, 27 Mar 2019 21:14:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just had all six subframe bushings done at my favorite indie. IMO they are the best in NE Ohio. Extremely pleased with the result. Car has 200k miles on it and just had this done now. The center bushes were really shot as were the rears that were done before 12/2014 at 147,000 miles. Huge difference in handling and noise. We used OE bushings throughout.
As expected we had to drop the lower control arms. We found that another indie had done a schlocky job and installed one of the rear bushings backwards, so we redid that. He also used off the shelf bolts to put the ball joints in instead of the OEM low headed ones. Now I've got that to redo!
Dropped the oil pan while the car was on the lift. No sludge. Car is an '04 so I wasn't expecting much. I also had the front main seal done which was leaking profusely.
My issue is this. We disconnected the headlight level control switch during subframe work. On reconnection, the orange light comes on indicating system malfunction. It goes off after a while and the headlight beams level out, but will come back on when going around corners. Could it just be the connector isn't seated fully, or did we damage the switch by moving the arm too far? I'll put my OpCom on it and see if there are any codes the headlight module has thrown. I replaced the front level sensor switch back in May of '15 at 151,000 miles. What's the resistance the switches are supposed to have?
Any help is appreciated - Thanks!
