One piece of advice I read is to keep the front transmission mount in good repair as it will take the stress off the other mounts. The aftermarket "sport" transmission mounts are basically good for life but they are quite hard so I find more vibration is transmitted to the driver but a "better" kind of vibration since it's tighter. They apparently improve "shift quality" but I really don't understand that in spite of having 2 on two difference vehicles. That said, the traditional OE or "hutchinson" mount is more "luxurious" feeling but has a relatively short life expectancy.
