I still have to do this as I have the same symptom on our manual transmission 9-5. Seems to be the baffle rather than fuel pump, sending unit, float gauge issue. I believe Swedecar has also mentioned this as a root cause in the past. I have never replaced a fuel pump on a 9-5 or 9000. We always operate above 1/4 tank and I use lucas fuel system treatment and gas saver which probably lubricates the pump to keep it purring after most lubricants were stripped out of automotive gasoline from what I have read over the years.
