Xenon Leveling Blues Posted by Doug W [Email] (#2371) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Doug W) on Thu, 13 Jun 2019 20:45:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have the "money" light on again. I check codes: B3410 which is for the front headlight level switch. I got a new cable and switch. I plugged in the cable and switch (loose switch). No joy. I replaced the level switch with t he aftermarket one I got. Again, no joy but the headlights did stop dancing up and down which is better than before.
Per the WIS I checked cable continuity between pin 5 at the harness connector in the wheel well, and Fuse 4 in the underhood box: 0.004 ohms. So the cables are OK. The fuse is OK too. Could be corrosion on the sockets in the cable. I have a new Saab OEM cable to try, which by the way carries a VW/Audi logo.
I hear that the lights need to be recalibrated after switch replacement using a Tech 2. Will the dash light stay on until the recal is done? I use OpCom to clear the code and turn off the dash light, but it comes right back.
Any other suggestions? My Xenon bulbs are probably original (15 years). Could they be causing the dash light to stay on despite the code for the front level switch?
Thanks.
