Problem solved-after inspection of all cables which looked Posted by saabniner [Email] (#617) [Profile/Gallery] (more from saabniner) on Fri, 5 Jul 2019 14:32:34 In Reply to: Say again about battery voltage . . ., Mark in Marine [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 2 Jul 2019 17:58:38 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
surprisingly good for the milage (from battery positive cable to the starter/solenoid to the alternator virtually no corrosion) so I took another shot at the battery. The receipt indicated today it was 18 months old with a coincidental warranty of 18 months I decided to go to an Interstate Battery this time instead of battling NAPA since they found no fault with their battery last week. Startup was normal, a test drive normal with no warning lights. Here in Florida the summers are very hot how with high humidity and heat indexes regularly in the low 100's. Since I moved back here twenty years ago my experience has been car batteries are good for 1-2 years before they give up the ghost, especially now that they are all permanently sealed. Seems with the old type being able to keep the cells topped up with water before the plates are exposed we were able to get much longer service. Good move on the industry's part, they sell many more batteries.
