engine vibration at stop, plus oil light Posted by TML [Email] (#2212) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TML) on Wed, 24 Jul 2019 05:41:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I test drove an '07 9-5 automatic yesterday which had a pretty pronounced vibration when in gear but not moving. It went away as soon as the car started moving, and was absent in park, so I'm guessing it's something to do with the torque converter. I know next to nothing about automatic transmissions. Aside from being mildly irritating, is this something I should be overly concerned about? Owner thought that the car had always done that and was just the way the car was. I test drove another one, which did not have this issue.
The oil pressure light also comes on sometimes when stopped, but goes away as soon as the car begins to move. His mechanic told him it's just the sensor that needs to be replaced. Does this sound plausible?
Car is otherwise in great shape; minimal rust, a binder full of maintenance records, mostly from a well known local Saab specialist.
Only other minor issue is the rear door locks reportedly only work sometimes, which I'm guessing is failing actuators. Easy or hard fix on this model?
